Our Story

Hi, my name is Tram Kastamo — one of the Co-Founders.

In 2020, my sister and I opened our first restaurant called Saiga Vietnamese Eatery to share our love for Vietnamese food using our mom’s recipes. Raising young kids and running a restaurant at the time, I often needed quick, convenient meals — but nothing in the grocery store reflected the Vietnamese flavors I grew up with. I realized there was a gap — not just for my family – but for anyone craving familiar, comforting meals from our culture.

That’s when we set out to change the freezer aisle. With my mom and sister’s help, we developed a frozen version of our restaurant phở – testing broth, noodles, and packaging – to make it possible for families everywhere to enjoy the flavors of Vietnam – right from their local grocery store.

More than just food - it’s our family’s story.

Family has always been at the heart of everything we do. The recipes we share today were inspired by the meals we love — the bữa cơm gia đình (family meals) that brought us comfort and connection.

As a family-run business, we carry those same values into everything we do: staying true to our roots, treating our team and customers like family, and never compromising on quality or integrity. Saiga Foods is more than a brand — it’s our family’s story, shared through every bowl.

Driven by passion, guided by values.

We’re building Saiga Foods with grit, heart, and a clear purpose: to become the national leader in Asian comfort food while staying true to our family roots. We’re proud to be women-led, community-driven, and committed to creating clean-label meals people can trust.

As a self-funded, in-house manufacturer, growth has come with many challenges. We wear many hats — balancing production, distribution, marketing, and team development.

Despite this, we’ve stayed true to our values: maintaining quality, preserving truyền thống (tradition), and building a workplace where employees feel like family. By keeping production in our family’s hands, we ensure every detail reflects the values we care about — quality, honesty, and cultural heritage.

Testimonials

Brisket was very tender and the broth was delicious. Would definitely recommend for quick pho craving!

The fat cube can be removed prior to heating for a leaner broth. I tried the bowl on two occasions, once with the fat cube and again without the fat cube. The pho broth was delicious and hearty both times.

I'm pretty amazed by the flavor and taste of this pho. It satisfied my cravings for pho and I can have ready to eat pho in just 5 minutes. It's a must have in my freezer now.

The chashu was delicious and complemented the rice very well. Tasted like how my mom used to make when I was younger yummy!

The contrast of textures is just right and the seasoning shines through even though it was previously frozen.

Fried rice has always been my comfort food! I’m so happy and surprised that there are huge chunks of chicken in here too!
